BIOMiguel Alanis is a senior instructional support specialist for Engineer Your World. His focus is on the development and continuous improvement of the Engineer Your World curriculum and teacher support program. He has experience in both education and engineering. Mr. Alanis has been a professional educator since 2006, teaching mathematics and physics at the secondary and community college level in the Rio Grande Valley, San Antonio, and Austin. He has extensive experience in curriculum and course design, having successfully implemented various STEM courses and remediation efforts. Immediately prior to joining UTeachEngineering, Mr. Alanis worked as a Quality Engineer for an aerospace defense company in San Antonio, reverse engineering and designing military aircraft components.
Mr. Alanis earned his B.S. degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Purdue University in 2006, and received an M.S. degree in Mathematics from The University of Texas at Brownsville in 2010.
